MLM leads generation using Craigslist can be a very powerful tool. Since it’s free, it is a method of advertising pursued by many different network marketers and internet marketers alike in their effort to recruit more leads for their business.
But fortunately – that’s right, I said fortunately – craigslist has made it more difficult to post in mass on their search boards. The reasons are pretty obvious, and I’m not going to go into them here, but this is fortunate for you as a network marketer because all it takes are a few simple tactics and you’ll be able to post multiple items on to their message boards, which are increasingly void of competition (especially network marketing competition)!
You see, before, every network marketer and internet marketer alike were posting tons and tons of worthless ads on Craigslist, so your message was usually drowned out quite quickly.
But the number of advertisers, especially Network Marketers, has dwindled… apart from the usual local network marketer with a terrible ad that looks something like this –
“Work From Home
Amazing New Vitamins Entering The Market
Call John Doe [his home number]”
Yea…right… If you’re ads look anything like what I wrote above, be sure to sign up for my free training series, you’re going to need it 
Ok, so on to posting on Craigslist to get qualified leads for your network marketing or home based business business. The major change that craigslist has made is that now you must have a phone verified account. All this means is Craigslist wants to know that there is a unique phone number behind each “small biz ad” that is posted. Not only is this an easy way for them to limit the number of posts of each user, but it helps cut down on SPAM posts that are worthless anyway.
As part of the new Craigslist rules (which are always changing, by the way) you can only post once every 48hrs per phone verified account. If you’re looking to generate a good number of leads for your network marketing business using Craigslist, you’re going to need to be able to post at least 10-20 times per day. So you’re going to need roughly 20-40 phone verified accounts.
So unless you have 20-40 spare phone numbers just lying around, I’m going to give you another option that is easy, cheap, and will help you generate more leads for your mlm business than you ever thought possible.
Here’s the steps to getting an unlimited number of phone verified accounts for posting ads on Craigslist –
1. Go to Yahoo! and download the latest version of Yahoo! Messenger. You must also create an account if you don’t already have one.
2. Install the messenger, and login to your account.
3. At the top of the messenger window, you’ll see a little picture of a phone handset and the words “Yahoo! Voice”. Click on it and then select “Get A Phone Number For My PC” from the menu that opens.
4. It opens your browser and sends you to the Yahoo! page for purchasing numbers.
5. Select your country
6. Select your desired area (you can choose a number anywhere in the country. For the purposes of Craigslist, it’s best to get numbers that are separated by a significant distance. In other words, don’t get 20 phone numbers from 1 area…)
7. Select the phone number you want (it doesn’t matter what the number is)
8. Select the $2.99 a month billing option and click Sign Up
9. Fill out your credit card information (note: your credit card information is tied to your Yahoo! account, so you can’t use the same credit card information across multiple accounts. That’s ok, because Yahoo! allows you to purchase multiple phone numbers per account.
10. Complete your purchase. Then restart your Yahoo! Messenger software
11. Turn up the volume, and call the number you just purchased. It should pop up a notification in the messenger program letting you know you have an incoming call. Answer the call, and verify audio works. (talk to yourself…)
Congratulations! You now can create another phone-verified account on Craigslist for only $2.99! (if you’re not sure how to do it properly, take a look at my Posting On Craigslist post) Repeat as many times as you like, and always remember that posting on Craigslist can bring you tons and tons of qualified MLM leads, but it’s a time consuming process. Just always keep in mind that it’s FREE!

Hi Josh,
Interesting comments about Craigslist. I notice this entry is almost 2 years old. Any followup on these methods? Plus, $3 a pop if you were to verify 60 craigslist accounts, $180 a month is a little steep??
I will take some of these tips and implement them, I am a newbie. Thanks

Thanks for your comments. It wouldn’t be $180 per month, it would simply be $180 once. Craigslist does not continue to call the same number to continually verify it. As a result, after you verify it once, you can simply discontinue paying for the phone line. Craigslist will never be the wiser
